Pay At Scale

The Pay at Scale feature is designed to auto-update employee rates following Contract Scale Updates. This ensures employees are always paid in compliance with Union regulations, without any manual effort.

Employee Eligibility

For an employee’s rate to be auto-updated:

  • Payroll must be enabled in your project
  • The employee’s position must be enabled for Hours to Gross
  • The employee’s scale rate must be below the current scale rate
  • Scale Updates must be enabled for your project

How it works

The Pay at Scale feature provides flexibility that accounts for the subtleties of entertainment payroll.

The system uses the "Deal Type" on the Digital Start Form to determine how rates are updated:

  • Pay at Scale: Both the employee's scale and pay rate will match the new contract rate.
  • Pay Overscale: The scale rate updates. If the pay rate then falls below the scale rate, the pay rate also updates, and the deal type changes to "Pay at Scale."
  • Contract Payment: Only the scale rate updates.

Subject to Negotiation: No updates occur.
